Subjects
The subjects that I can teach!
Introduction
A little bit about myself.
Hi, I'm Rohan Jackson, a Mechatronic Engineering (Hons) graduate and Masters student in Applied Physics, and I tutor mathematics at all levels, and high school level physics. I've tutored for a few years now, mostly mathematics - from Year 10 to University level, as well as some robotics tutoring during my undergraduate. My aim in tutoring is to develop a genuine desire for learning by showing students the many motivations for learning mathematics and physics; having studied engineering, I can demonstrate these motivations where others may only be able to describe them. I'm a big fan of visual and kinaesthetic learning styles, so I like to teach with practical and real-world examples where possible. I've consistently found that these approaches help instil an intuition for conceptual understanding, which I find is greatly beneficial for learning outcomes and students' personal development. I'm available most weekday evenings, and weekends.
Hobbies
A bit more about me and what I do in my spare time!
I'm an avid boulderer, and usually spend a few nights a week climbing in various gyms around Melbourne. When I'm not doing that, I like to practise music - mostly singing and guitar, or read (some of my favourites recently have been *House of Leaves* by Mark Danielewski, and *Seven Types of Ambiguity* by Melbourne author Elliot Perlman).
