Course coverage

What General Maths tutoring can cover.

Families do not need to diagnose every gap before booking. The first lessons can identify the exact study design areas, skills, and exam habits that need work.

Data Analysis

  • Understanding and analyzing single-variable data (e.g., mean, median, mode) and two-variable data (e.g., correlation, regression).
  • Conducting and interpreting investigations, including collecting data, creating graphs, and using statistical tools to draw conclusions.
  • Analyzing patterns over time, including trends, seasonal effects, and making predictions using models.

Recursion and Financial Modelling

  • Study of recursive formulas to model situations such as population growth, interest calculations, and other iterative processes.
  • Understanding and applying concepts such as simple and compound interest, annuities, loans, and amortization schedules.
  • Using financial models to make informed decisions, including investment analysis and budgeting.

Matrices

  • Introduction to matrix addition, subtraction, multiplication, and the concept of the inverse of a matrix.
  • Using matrices to solve real-world problems such as transformations, network analysis, and coding.
  • Understanding and applying transition matrices in contexts such as Markov chains and probability modeling.

Networks and Decision Mathematics

  • Study of networks and paths, including concepts like Eulerian and Hamiltonian paths, and their applications in route optimization.
  • Using networks to model and solve project management problems, including identifying critical paths and optimizing timelines.
  • Applying algorithms to find the shortest path between nodes and creating minimal spanning trees for efficient network design.

Lesson structure

A lesson plan that parents can understand and students can act on.

VCE tutoring needs to be specific enough for the study design and flexible enough for the student. These lesson stages turn subject advice into a repeatable weekly rhythm.

Tutoring approach

Our methodology for VCE General Maths

Lessons focus on the student's current modules, SAC requirements, and the skills needed to apply methods accurately. Tutors can explain procedures, calculator workflows, and how to interpret question wording.

Students can practise SAC-style tasks, exam questions, and revision sets so they become more confident with working, timing, and common question types.

Parent questions

Questions families often ask before a trial lesson.

VCE support should feel specific, not rushed. These answers cover the practical concerns that usually come up before booking.

Can General Maths tutoring focus on a current SAC?

Yes. The tutor can work directly with the current assessment, study design area, teacher feedback, draft response, or revision plan while still keeping the broader VCE course in view.

How is the tutor matched?

Erudite considers the VCE subject, the student's goals, lesson format, schedule, and the kind of teaching style that is likely to work. The trial lesson confirms fit before families continue.

Can lessons include VCAA exam technique?

Yes. VCE lessons can include VCAA-style questions, timed practice, command terms, response planning, and feedback on how to improve under exam conditions.

Is online tutoring available for this VCE subject?

Online lessons are available where a suitable tutor match can be made. In-home availability depends on subject, location, and schedule.

If you need a tutor for your kids, Erudite Tuition is great! I've used them for almost 2years as i felt due to covid my kids education went down hill:-( I love that are able to come to my house and tutor both of my kids @ the same time(yr 3 & yr 5 students) my kids love their tutor Deveka and the company itself is really good. I've never had an issue with either one. I've recommended this company to friends and family and will continue to do so. Great work guys. Thanks heaps😁

Jared was fantastic. Patient, dedicated, engaging. We really felt that he was as invested in our daughter doing well on her OC test as we are. She loved him. We couldn't recommend him more highly. Thank you.
