Year 5 asks students to work with more complex texts, clearer writing structures, fractions, decimals, problem-solving and independent study habits. It is also a NAPLAN year, so some students benefit from calm assessment practice alongside regular school support.
Erudite tutors can support reading comprehension, persuasive and narrative writing, grammar, spelling, number fluency, fractions, decimals, measurement, data and multi-step worded problems. Lessons can follow schoolwork, target gaps or extend a capable learner.
For families considering NSW selective school pathways, Year 5 can also be used to strengthen reading, mathematical reasoning, writing and test habits before Year 6 decisions become more immediate.
